ReplyDeleteTo have such a mature sense of fashion at such a young age, such creativity, and such a strong literary nuance begs me to pose questions of your inspirations and influences.
You have effectively breached my grasp of naiveté, and I am both delighted yet somewhat melancholic at the idea that you will not have the opportunity to discover your identity in the years of awkward teenage fashion experimentation.
All I can honestly say is: yay to op-shops, recycling clothes, florals, the environment, music, art, fashion, and hope.
Hold on to these things & keep pushing the boundaries. You're doing an excellent job :)

p.s. do not be afraid to keep the hem long. it is bizarre how modesty requires more courage than scarcity in fashion these days. I challenge you to help me change this :)

anna, thanks so much. i really appreciate your interest and advice. my influence can come from (very cliche, i know); my mood, friends, colours i see, other people's ideas and the weather. the essence, i think, to style is simple; grab some clothes you 'think' match and just wear it. i'll try your idea about longer hems, i have a fear of frumpiness about long dresses however i think i could manage to wear a long skirt. x
